I just found out my DirecTV DVR has built-in support for using the Remote in RF mode. This means I can hide the receiver inside my media stand and still change the channels. Funny thing is I have had this DVR for almost a year and just discovered this feature.

It reminds me yet again of the thing that I miss most about Tivo: usablity.
