Recommeding Best Practices
Everyday someone asks for me a “best practice.” What’s the best way to do it they ask? This question is always a trap. People really don’t want best practices. Why? Simple. Almost all best practices are more expensive, require more time, and are just plain hard work. No one wants to hear this. People want to be told they are already doing it the right way. They don’t want change. Change is hard. Do you want to change? Here’s a best practice: don’t ask for one, if you don’t want to change.
