Improving on the Redmonk RSVP idea
James of Redmonk fame has an interesting idea to use Twitter as a Really Simple Voting Poll (RSVP), I really like the idea of super lightweight simple polls. As much as I like Twitter, it seems like the wrong service for this. Jyte on the other hand is the ideal service for simple polls.
I just made a claim that “Jyte is the ideal site to implement the Redmonk’s Really Simple Voting Poll idea.” Go vote if you agree or disagree.
Update: You can also vote right here on Speaker City as Jyte lets you embed your claims. Very cool.
the simple truth. i think you are probably right. damn pesky speaker city…
there are a few things about the twitter interface that dont suit the task in hand, and i should not try and use a nail to make french toast. i need to blog this. now what would be really good? a twitter Jyte mashup - come on brandon get your coding mitts on…
[...] Speaker City » Improving on the Redmonk RSVP idea In which Brandon schools me. Jyte is probably a better mechanism for polling than Twitter. it was designed for that, after all. So how do I build a Jyte community for RedMonk RSVP? not least because Jyte is open ID based, while Twitters system is a bit cl (tags: Twitter RedMonkRSVP) [...]
James, I can’t always be wrong
It would be cool if you could vote on Jyte using SMS. It would also be cool to create a network of jyte users who could subscribe to your claims via SMS. Simple stuff like “Should we eat dinner Chuy’s” would be fun polls to take.
Love to see Twitter use OpenID too. It is an ideal app for OpenID.
I voted just for fun “no”. Being the Technology Dinosaur that I am I need lots of proof that this makes my life better. On a different note it did walk me into getting an OpenID which I think is a good thing.
