Inside scope for the Lost Podcast
Lost is off to a great start this year. The first and second episodes have been simply fantastic. Dire hard fans will want to listen to this episode of the Official Lost Podcast. There’s a lot of Q&A with the producers and a few of the actors. There is also a questioner who is obviously a plant who goes off on the producers for promoting the Hanso Foundation.
A few of the more interesting points were:
- The producers alluded to having about 5 seasons worth of Lost.
- The writers have a rule that they only introduce something if it has a resolution. For example, when they introduced the button, they knew how it would end.
- There will be two mini-seasons this year. The first is running now and will end with the seventh episode. The cliff-hanger will “blow your mind.” Exact quote from the podcast. I love that they set the bar so high.
- Kate will hook up with Jake or Sawyer. My money is on Sawyer. Jack is too obvious.
- They do pretty much confirm that the final scene in last season with the guys in the snow is not on the island.
- There was a question about an underwater hatch. The producers seem to confirm it by not saying much. When did we see an underwater hatch? How could have I missed this? Note this does seem to make sense since the Others seem to attack from the water. For example, episode 2 in season three, when the attack the sailboat.
- They mentioned that Jack is a spinal surgeon. Did we already know the spinal part? Again, how could I have missed this. Somehow this is important.
- They told us that we have already seen the monster but did not know it…
Yes, I am totally obsessed with the show.
The underwater hatch? This is where they have Jack locked up. Remember the water entering the room when he opened the door. I’m sure you saw this but just aren’t making the connection.
Spinal surgeon? You should stop drinking while watching the show.
I’m not sure why it is important, but it was recently mentioned by Juliet down in the UNDERWATER HATCH when she was discussing Jack’s file while he was locked up.
It’s funny how everyone picks up different things. Every time I talk with Chip about this, there are always contrasting clues.
I don’t remember Juliet mentioning that Jack was a Spinal surgeon. Maybe I also need to back off having wine while watching the show as well. But wasn’t Jack’s wife paralyzed in the car accident? Since he was the one who did the surgery, I suppose it implicitly indicates his profession. Albeit extremely subtle.
The podcast was recorded before this season. The spinal surgeon and underwater hatch were both mentioned by questioners on the podcast. I think somehow this was revealed in Season 2 but I never picked it up. Oh, I still probably need to stop drinking during the show.
I finally have the new HD DVR for this weeks episode so there be no more excuses.
