Five sites that are missing out
If you read this blog then you know that every night all my del.icio.us bookmarks for that day are automatically posted in a blog entry. I like to think of this blog as a window into what I’ve doing and the bookmarks are intended to show what I thought was interesting during that day.
I wish other sites would offer this auto post feature. It’s win-win. I get to post more content while adverting some other site.
Here are 3 sites that should add an auto-post features:
Indeed! I’d say that 1/2 of he reason I use del.icio.us is exactly because of this: it’s a quick and easy content generator for my blogs.
What I’ve wanted is a generic “RSS digester” that will take chunk RSS items into 24 hour chunks (like del.icio.us) does. Then, you could splice this feed into your mainfeed.
NetFlix, digg, and FeedLounge have RSS feeds like you want above, but each item in the feed is a DVD, a dugg item, or a subscribed feed. I’d also like to add in my last.fm played songs for the day which suffers the same item-per-entity problem.
Of course, some folks might think all that would be feed overload, but I tend to just think it’s easy enough to skip posts.
Good ideas. On suggestion though, I want this stuff as a actual blog post. Not just in the feed. That way I can find it again and for those non-RSS readers, they can use see the content as well.
Yup, I agree completly. Things got much better with posting links when they were actually blog posts: people started leaving comments on them, which was awesome.
