Three ways to track who is reading your blog
When I setup this blog, I wanted to know who (if anyone :)) was reading it. Here are my three favorite tracking services:
- FeedBurner. I redirected the RSS feed of this site through Feedburner. Feedburner gives you all kinds of stats about how many RSS subscribers you have and what RSS readers they use. I used the Wordpress FeedBurner plugin which made setup simple.
- Google Analytics tracks who visits the site and a variety of other statistics about surfers. The Google Analyticator Wordpress Plugin made installation a snap.
- Technorati tracks incoming links from other blogs (a.k.a. link love). For those who like stats, Technorati will also show your blog’s ranking. It only takes about 5 minutes to setup an account and claim your blog.
Got any other suggestions, what else should I be doing?
Yeah, the Google Analytics is really cool. I especially like the world map showing where the hits are coming from.
Thanks for all the blog tips. This is one case where I don’t mind riding the coattails of others.
